Situated in the Sixmile Valley just outside the old market town of Ballyclare the Mileview Lleyns were established in 2005 by Charles and Andrew Kennedy. Farming at Mileview always consisted of running a suckler herd and commercial sheep. Always looking to improve the viability of keeping breeding sheep we started to look for a breed that would be versatile, prolific and most importantly lamb easily with great maternal instincts. With this in mind we privately purchased 10 quality Lleyn females that were selected from one of the top founder flocks in Northern Ireland for good confirmation, tight skins and breed character. These ewes turned out to be the breeding foundation of our flock which now consists of 70 pedigree Lleyn ewes.
With careful selection of stock rams bred from our own flock and other well established blood lines, this led to a winning combination for our Mileview Flock both in the show ring and in the sales ring
With our flock being MV Accredited, Scrapie Monitered and Export Eligiable we sell sheep privatley and at the Lleyn Sheep Society Sales in Ballymena and Carlisle. Whether you are an experienced breeder or hoping to establish a Lleyn flock we will always be pleased to welcome you at Mileview Lleyns.
